About the Curriculum Series

Computer Applications Should Be an Integral Part of Your Curriculum

More and more school districts across the country are taking steps to integrate computer applications into their academic curriculum. It only makes sense--computer skills are not, themselves, the objective. The ability of each student to use the computer as an effective tool, both in their school work and in their life work, is the objective. Now there is a unique set of instructional tools to help you accomplish that integration.

Curriculum Series Overview

This series of books facilitates the integration of instruction in computer applications with the curriculum areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies at the middle school level. They make technology integration easy for teachers and fun for students.

Each book provides over 100 computer activities--including some optional Internet activities. Technical tips are provided for the most common software packages, but the activities are designed so most of them can be done using whatever hardware and software is available. Supplementary Instructor's Manuals include tips on meeting SCANS goals, lesson guides, and solutions to the Activities.

For a more complete solution, consider bundling one or more of our software-specific Step-by-Step Series books with the Curriculum Series. For example, if you are using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works, or ClarisWorks, our Step-by-Step books would provide software specific training and reference, freeing the lab instructor to focus on providing individual instruction to students as needed.

Correlations have been done between the Curriculum Series books and several State Curriculum Standards. You can view and print these correlations.
