In Math with Computers, students will learn how to
unleash the power of spreadsheets to solve math problems. They will discover that they can
use spreadsheets as a tool to solve problems in school and throughout life. They will learn that spreadsheets can help them
to: calculate and allocate resources; evaluate, organize, interpret, and present data;
maintain and process different kinds of information; analyze information, make decisions,
and solve problems; and complete mathematical assignments. Both math objectives and
computer skills are covered in the 103 activities. Sample activities include: Calculating
Measurements, Four Fabulously Functional Functions, Estimating the Percentages, Gross
Formulas, The Magical Time Value of Money and more! Teacher’s
Manual includes tips on meeting SCANS goals, lesson guides, and solutions.

Foundations, or basic skills, are taught in a step-by-step
fashion through 39 activities that are found in the beginning lessons.
Higher-level spreadsheet and math skills are taught through
28 challenging activities in later lessons.
Three review lessons, with over 35 activities in the form of
story problems provide students the opportunity to apply new skills and solve problems on
their own.
TechTips provide step-by-step instructions on how to use a
variety of spreadsheet features and functions.
TechLessons provide more detailed instruction on how to
complete certain tasks such as creating headers, printing spreadsheets, and using the
