Internet Exploration: Activities and Concepts provides comprehensive, yet easy-to-understand coverage of the Internet. Through hands-on activities, concepts enhanced by examples and illustrations, and on-line practice, students learn what the Internet contains and how it can help them. Topics include the World Wide Web, electronic mail, mailing lists, newsgroups, Internet Relay Chat, FTP, Gopher, Telnet, multimedia on the Internet, and HTML. There is also a unique unit that teaches students about Internet security, how to evaluate information they find on the Internet, and how to be a wise electronic consumer. The final unit is a collection of 20 cross-curricular projects that includes more than 65 hands-on activities.
