ClarisWorks for Kids Construction Zone is a full-color textbook that teaches kids how to use the ClarisWorks for Kids software. This easy-to-use, step-by-step tutorial contains colorful and fun graphics that enable kids to work at the computer with minimal direction by the teacher. There are twenty projects that are designed to be fun and educational, teaching skills in graphics, language arts, and computer literacy. This flexible text allows teachers to teach computer literacy and still have the time to cover the other items in their curriculum. The Teachers Guide provides project overviews, objectives, and tips for integrating the projects into the classroom.
Each project starts with a Job Skills list (skills and tools that will be used in the project) and Blueprint (description of what will be done in project).
A quick look at the top of each page shows what tools are used and skills are taught on that page.
Colorful illustrations and screen captures make it fun and easy for kids to follow steps in each lesson.
Tips (ways to do things more easily), Cautions (warning of things that can be tricky) and Reminders (reminding kids to save, close, and exit) are included in every project.
The start of each new project shows file names of folders where projects are stored.
Projects can be completed in any order and repeated to reinforce a skill.
